Week 15, 16, now 17!

We sure have been busy these last couple weeks! I told myself I would try to post each week, but...life happens and I get busy (or tired depending on the day). We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary back in Savannah two weekends ago. I had been battling some "really enjoyable" headaches during that week (15), but managed to pull it together and feel good Saturday when we got up there. Brian planned a great dinner at Local Eleven 10, which is definitely a restaurant to try if you visit (not very touristy).

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and as always it was great to be surrounded by family. Brian's mom hosted this year's feast, and it was amazing! She's got that Martha touch. Their house is always beautifully decorated, and activities were planned for the whole day. Then this past Saturday we drove up to Tallahassee to attend the Noles'/Gator game, which was a great success because we won!! It's always fun to see friends and tailgate, even if I was the "sober sister" hanging out in the freezing weather with a cold. What a prego trooper I was... most of the time. Many friends had a hard time believing I was almost in my fifth month of pregnancy, seeing as my "bump" really just looks like I ate a few to many burgers. It is always nice to hear that you look good, because I have had some mini meltdowns when trying to wear my skinny jeans. I am ready for this little belly to "pop" so I can finally look pregnant, but as Granny told me... "It's not about me anymore, it's about this little one... so get over it!" So begins Week 17 today. Let you know how it all goes.

Hope ya'll get those trees decorated and presents bought. 'Tis the season I have been waiting for... during all those weeks I was sick.

A new chapter...

We're PREGNANT... or shall I say, I am pregnant. Entering my second trimester with two sonograms down, we can now begin to spread our special news. It's been 3 months since the last post... probably because even looking at a computer screen has made me want to blow chunks, until now.
It all started... when I got home from Kansas in late August. Brian picked me up from the airport, and I told him I was going to take a home pregnancy test. He laughed, said bye, and back to work he went. Well our bathrooms were in the middle of being renovated, so trying to take the prego test without running water was such a delight... little did I know you are suppose to take the test first thing in the morning. Still didn't matter, test came back with the nice big words... PREGNANT. I sat at our dining room table staring at the stick all the while Sam (contractor) tracked back and forth hauling tile. It was all I could do to keep from running and shouting it to him, but I knew I had to be tight lipped until the hubby came home and heard it first.

So it has been a very trying first trimester. Seems like everyone I know has enjoyed a breezy 1st trimester with the occasional nausea here and there... NOT ME. Six weeks to the day it began. I honestly have felt like I have had the flu for 7 consecutive weeks. Some weeks are far worse than others, but to put it nicely...our new bathrooms have been getting great use from muah! Brian has been a trooper. He has been taking care of me, and doing the mundane task of going to the grocery store each week. I haven't been able to bare the sights or smells of so many foods. They say pregnant women have cravings, but this pregnant lady has a serious food aversion case. Today has been a better day and the doctors say that one day I will just wake up and feel fine... here's hoping it started today! We are so excited for our little pumpkin to join us! The sonogram we had Tuesday was simply amazing. The little thing moved around in circles the whole time. I will post pictures soon!

So I am going to attempt to document the whole journey down... it just might take me some time. :)
