week 19

We're having a ...
BABY BOY!!!

Wednesday we had our 19 week sonogram, and found out it's going to be a Cooper Boy! We are so excited. The sonogram pictures showed we have a HEALTHY baby boy, and a proud one at that. He had no problem showing the goods, and when our sonogram tech would poke on a part of my belly, he would push right back at her...already a feisty one! It is so amazing to see him in there sucking his thumb and moving about. We are so blessed that all signs show he is healthy as can be!

Proud little boy already got his chin held high!

Look at his perfect little profile. He's all curled up!

Also his little girlfriend, Marin was born yesterday at 3:30 PM. Congratulations Chad and Kylie! She is such a beautiful baby, and our little one can't wait to meet her in person!

Week 15, 16, now 17!

We sure have been busy these last couple weeks! I told myself I would try to post each week, but...life happens and I get busy (or tired depending on the day). We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary back in Savannah two weekends ago. I had been battling some "really enjoyable" headaches during that week (15), but managed to pull it together and feel good Saturday when we got up there. Brian planned a great dinner at Local Eleven 10, which is definitely a restaurant to try if you visit (not very touristy).

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and as always it was great to be surrounded by family. Brian's mom hosted this year's feast, and it was amazing! She's got that Martha touch. Their house is always beautifully decorated, and activities were planned for the whole day. Then this past Saturday we drove up to Tallahassee to attend the Noles'/Gator game, which was a great success because we won!! It's always fun to see friends and tailgate, even if I was the "sober sister" hanging out in the freezing weather with a cold. What a prego trooper I was... most of the time. Many friends had a hard time believing I was almost in my fifth month of pregnancy, seeing as my "bump" really just looks like I ate a few to many burgers. It is always nice to hear that you look good, because I have had some mini meltdowns when trying to wear my skinny jeans. I am ready for this little belly to "pop" so I can finally look pregnant, but as Granny told me... "It's not about me anymore, it's about this little one... so get over it!" So begins Week 17 today. Let you know how it all goes.

Hope ya'll get those trees decorated and presents bought. 'Tis the season I have been waiting for... during all those weeks I was sick.

A new chapter...

We're PREGNANT... or shall I say, I am pregnant. Entering my second trimester with two sonograms down, we can now begin to spread our special news. It's been 3 months since the last post... probably because even looking at a computer screen has made me want to blow chunks, until now.
It all started... when I got home from Kansas in late August. Brian picked me up from the airport, and I told him I was going to take a home pregnancy test. He laughed, said bye, and back to work he went. Well our bathrooms were in the middle of being renovated, so trying to take the prego test without running water was such a delight... little did I know you are suppose to take the test first thing in the morning. Still didn't matter, test came back with the nice big words... PREGNANT. I sat at our dining room table staring at the stick all the while Sam (contractor) tracked back and forth hauling tile. It was all I could do to keep from running and shouting it to him, but I knew I had to be tight lipped until the hubby came home and heard it first.

So it has been a very trying first trimester. Seems like everyone I know has enjoyed a breezy 1st trimester with the occasional nausea here and there... NOT ME. Six weeks to the day it began. I honestly have felt like I have had the flu for 7 consecutive weeks. Some weeks are far worse than others, but to put it nicely...our new bathrooms have been getting great use from muah! Brian has been a trooper. He has been taking care of me, and doing the mundane task of going to the grocery store each week. I haven't been able to bare the sights or smells of so many foods. They say pregnant women have cravings, but this pregnant lady has a serious food aversion case. Today has been a better day and the doctors say that one day I will just wake up and feel fine... here's hoping it started today! We are so excited for our little pumpkin to join us! The sonogram we had Tuesday was simply amazing. The little thing moved around in circles the whole time. I will post pictures soon!

So I am going to attempt to document the whole journey down... it just might take me some time. :)

C
alifornia Dreaming...

That's what we are still doing after being home for only a few days from our NOCAL vacation. It. was. so. completely. amazing. We tasted great wine, ate wonderful food, hiked a crazy mountain, enjoyed eachother, and took in every scenic view. I'll let the pictures tell the rest.

Summer

After a crazy month of June, full of family...graduation...party...family...birthdays...family...graduation...party, I have had a chance to RELAX. By that I mean sleep in and actually go to the gym at 8:00AM (when the sun is actually up) instead of 5:00.

I have had a couple weeks of teaching in-services and attending them. We had a chance to hang out with Martina and his girlfriend Kathryn on the 4th over at NSB. A friend at Bootcamp asked me last week what I have been doing this summer with my time... Mmm totally getting "Zen" reading some great books, laying out, shopping, cooking good dinners, and finishing up some projects on the house. It has been blissful, and I really will feel relaxed in 3 WEEKS (yes 3) when I go back to school.

BUT the best part is that I still have our vacay to CALI coming up. Here we come Napa & Sonoma! Talk about relaxing. We are so excited for our "2nd honeymoon" as Brian likes to call it (only because he is trying to get some deals from people). So I'll have much more to post in a couple weeks!

So I know my "glory days" are over because it is Friday night, Friday Night Lights is over, and now Brian is watching the US Open. Yawn. So I was like... "what do I do?" Blog of course. Now what to blog about? Oh wait, just look at the TV and get inspiration. I realized we have some great pictures from Pebble Beach, and why not share in honor of the Open?

So these lovely pics are from Thanksgiving Day on our honeymoon. We headed south for lunch at Pebble Beach. As we drove down the Pacific Coast Highway... Brian was all "Look out the window. The cliffs and beach look awesome from up here." and I was all "Don't you remember who you married five days ago? I hate driving, heights, and am having slight panic attacks every time you make me look!"

Needless to say, we survived the drive and had a great afternoon. Now I can watch the Open and act all cool because I have been there!

Brian took one of Tiger's locker too. But you know he was having his own issues on Thanksgiving Day...and because of all those issues, I have no need to post his locker picture with Bobby Jones.

BBQ's and Birthdays

It's been another couple of busy weeks. Brian was gone for a whole week for work and play. He went to Vegas on business trip the week before Memorial Day. Brian was there until Wednesday of that week. Lucky boy! He had a lot of fun, and a chance to go out with our friend, Joey and his girlfriend Kerry. Next time I am going to tag along for that business trip. After that he was off for his yearly boys golf outing with his dad, brother, and uncle. Three days, thirty six holes... needless to say he was a bit tired when he returned. Meanwhile I was busy working trying to get ready for the end of school (one of the busiest times of year). I did get to go down to Melbourne and Vero Beach with Kylie, and it was a nice relaxing time.

Happy 52nd birthday to my Dad! We had the fam over for a BBQ to celebrate. My Grandma was able to fly down and be with us for his day, and for Dalton's graduation. We had a fun time sitting around outside and catching up. We also got a chance to look at some great pictures of the past...like the one to the left. Gotta love Dad rocking the 'stache!
